Homestead Funding - Corporate Culture
The quality of being honest and fair
THE COMPANY WE KEEP
MAKES THE COMPANY WE ARE
Homestead Funding Corp.’s President and CEO, Mike Rutherford, says it best; “People are our most important asset.” That’s why over half of our employees have been with Homestead for more than 10 years, and why we have several generations of family members who are all working at Homestead. When you trust the people around you, you know that you can also trust them with our customers.
Homestead also believes that a positive work environment leads to a positive customer experience. The entire executive team at Homestead Funding Corp. is invested in each and every one of our employees. If one employee is experiencing a hardship, we rally as a company to support them. We know that when you’re at your best, the company is at its best.

ALWAYS STRIVING TO BE PROACTIVE
INSTEAD OF REACTIVE
Over the years, as Homestead has grown, so has our desire to become more innovative. We have been consistently searching for, and ultimately implementing, new tools, technology, and procedures in order to provide an increasingly seamless mortgage experience to our customers, and to help make our employees lives easier and more efficient.
A relationship involving trust and energy to obtain the same goal.
THAT WITHSTAND TIME
We value our relationships; with our employees, with our clients, and with our referral partners. Building long lasting relationships is crucial to the success of a company. When we trust those around us, we thrive.
The mortgage process is filled with partnerships, and we take that seriously. Internally, we make sure that our loan originator and processors are partnered in a thoughtful way, so that they can produce the best work possible. We also allow loan originators the freedom to cultivate business in the best way that works for them; and we support them.
Our partnerships with our referral partners are also important to us. We know that when they refer us to one of their clients, we want to make sure that client receives the best possible service. In turn, our referral partners
Finally, and perhaps most important, are our partnerships with our customers. Although every customers works with one loan originator, they are actually working with the entire company; even if they don’t realize it. We realize that every loan is unique, and the occasional issue will arise. We believe it’s how you deal with these unexpected issues that’s most important. When a loan originator has a problem, Homestead has a problem, and all of our resources will be devoted to correcting it for our clients.
A group linked by common values.
WHAT’S IMPORTANT TO YOU,
IS IMPORANT TO US
Homestead’s employees, through donations and service, are helping to make a change in our local communities. We believe in giving back and supporting the communities that we are a part of; whether we have been a part of them for over 20 years, or just moved in. If our employees are passionate about something, we share and support that passion.
Homestead’s employees take time out of their personal lives to join together as a team and participate in many different charitable events. All of these efforts can be seen on our Homestead’s Helping Hands page of our website.
